[bg=white][atrb=width,400,true][atrb=border,0,true] Oh the morning rush, there was nothing worse other than the afternoon crash of course. Annie had been up since 5 am getting ready for her daily affairs. She had started off with the usual shower, and physical prepping. She decided loose curls would be the way to go, and conservative make up. After she had finished prepping, she headed to her closet and pulled out her black suit skirt, and a white thick strapped designer tank top. She pulled on the tank first, and then pulled the pencil skirt up her perfect figure. She fastened the skirt before reaching into her closet and pulling out a red mid waist belt, which she put around her narrowing torso. The gym had done wonders for Annie, and she loved it. Satisfied with her outfit she reached into the closet and grabbed out a pair of red heels. She slipped them on before frantically running around her house collecting her things. Her cell phone, PDA, laptop, purse, sunglasses, car keys, and case files were all carefully tucked away into her bag. Annie slung the bag over her shoulder before walking to her front door. She punched in the number and set her alarm before heading out into the busy streets.
Annie called her assistant and rambled off her breakfast order, to pick up her dry cleaning, to order her mother flowers for her birthday, and to make sure her and Kevin were still on for dinner. Once her phone call was completed she began to relax a little. The red head was a spaz, there was no denying it. She was has high strung as they came, determined, and intelligent, traits that often led her to winning numerous court trials. When Annie finally reached the office, she took a deep breath before she dared enter. The first five minutes were always the worst. She was rushed at the door by her receptionist, co-workers, and if the day was going to be bad enough her boss. Annie greeted them all, snatched her messages from her receptionist, and headed to her corner office. Though as she entered her office her eyes landed on one person she despised more than her boss, Gambit Slade. She really hated when her personal life ran into her work life, and when it came in the form of this brute, the irritation was even more evident. Her eyes narrowed as she slammed her door behind her. Annie refused to deal with this right now, and went about putting her stuff down. “You have got to be kidding me.” came her snide remark.
How dare he just make himself at home in her office, much less have the nerve to bring her other business into her professional life? There was a reason that business was listed under someone else, so that it wouldn’t come waltzing into her five star corner office for crying out loud. Annie was so angry by his presence that her face was just about as red as her hair. “What is a matter with you, this is not okay. You do realize the potential consequences you being her could cause me?” she said finally stopping her rampage around her office and crossing her arms over her chest defensively. “What could you possibly want now?” she said her eyes narrowing and looking directly at him. Annie hoped for his sake that it had been utterly necessary that he speak to her now, otherwise he was going to get her wrath. “Please tell me know one saw your waltz in here. I don’t do charity cases anymore so I would rather not have to think up a lie as to why someone like you is sitting in my office.” she said somewhat rudely, but that was almost expected from her, he should know that by now.

so, after arguing with one of annie's trashier looking girls, gambit drove himself down to her office building, fully knowing that she'd be unappeased as soon as she saw him. naturally, he was smart about walking into her office, and the pair of black handcuffs that were attached to his right belt loop only enforced his lie about being a cop. of course, when he was looked at for his strange way of dressing - to these bozos, anyway - gambit just flashed a fake grin and threw on his intimidating charm. it worked easily, and he was granted access to the elevator without any further questions. from there, he took it up to annie's office's level, expecting her to be locked inside, nose in her laptop or files. but as he exited the elevator and stepped down the hallway to her private office, he noticed that the door was closed. considering he didn't tell anyone he was here for annie, he had no idea if she was with a client. deciding to try his luck anyway, he lifted a steady hand to the door and gave it a soft knock. when he didn't hear anything, he lowered his hand to the handle and gave it a twist.
finding it unlocked, he closed the door behind him and looked around. he'd only been in here a few times with annie, and he'd never been allowed to focus on anything other than the tasks at hand, so getting a good look at the place hadn't been manageable. but, now, with all of this free time on his hands until whenever she returned to her office, he had all the time in the world to get himself more familiar with her personal room. and he made himself right at home while he did it, too.
when annie finally arrived, gambit slowly spun her desk chair around to face her, his typical smirk already pulled on his lips. "'fraid not." he spoke simply to her introduction statement, kicking his feet up as though he owned the place. gambit matched her gaze easily, narrowing his own when she narrowed hers. redhead or not, he wasn't going to let annie walk all over him or get the better of him, especially in a situation like this. he could've been sitting at home by now, stuffing his face full of dill pickled flavoured popcorn with a rated R movie. or, better yet, visiting his favourite stripper. instead, he was face to face with a woman who couldn't keep her girls in check, which made absolutely no sense to him whatsoever- she was a lawyer. if anything, she she be even more aware of the consequences if someone finds out she's the ring leader to a bunch of young women, selling their bodies off to anyone they can.
scoffing, gambit rolled his eyes and crossed his arms over his own chest, mocking her stature perfectly. "it's not like i wanna be here right now, carmicheal. if you were actually doing what you said you would, i wouldn't be." the tone he took with her was dominant, and he didn't give a fuck if she tried to counter it with her own, because in his eyes, she wouldn't win. "and yes, everyone saw me waltz in here. why? because i fuckin' let 'em." he snarled back, his patience clearly wearing thin throughout the entire conversation. ever word that came out of her mouth only pissed him off more. "maybe you should deal with the charity cases in your other occupation, before you have to start representing them in court in this one?" he suggested in a gruff tone, squinting his eyes further. fuck, he really wanted a smoke right about now. "sandy's in the drunk tank. two hours ago, she tried to beg me to let her suck my dick for twenty bucks. twenty fucking dollars, annie."
standing up, letting the chair spin from the momentum of his movements, he rounded the desk to her side, leaning against the wood beside her. his arms were still crossed, and the look on his face made it clear as to how unhappy he was about the visit. "she does it again, i have to report it. and you know what that means. if you wanna keep your two careers so far apart, maybe you should actually start laying down the rules for your whores." [atrb=style, background-color: 202020;]angry gambit is angryyyyy.

[bg=white][atrb=width,400,true][atrb=border,0,true] Annie growled and attempted to stare him down, though she was sure that it wouldn't effect him. Gambit was a thorn in her side, and she was really beginning to hate his appearances in her daily life. When he mentioned that she wasn't doing what she said she would she scoffed. "I fired the girls who were acting out of line, what more do you want from me?" Annie said moving to the side of her desk. She shoved his leg out of her way and opened the filing cabinet. She placed some files in it, and locked it after wards. "Just fucking arrest them already, I don't care. But intruding into my place of work is unacceptable, and I will file a harassment complaint against you if you do not remove yourself from my presence." she said angrily. Annie was your typical red head, fiery, abrasive, and if pushed just the right way rude. "You are messing with someone you really shouldn't be, Gambit." she spoke firmly. Gambit should be very aware of the family in which Annie came from, and if he wasn't, she wouldn't hesitate to educate him.
"Even worse." she said with a abrasive tone. "I now have to explain to my partners why a well known bounty hunter is in my office. I don't use such gorilla tactics, this is just fucking great, you bastard." she groaned, leaning against her desk and resting her forehead in her hand. "Please, do you honestly think my extra curricular business is in my name? You truly are a foolish ape." she said laughter echoing in her office. "I may be a female, and I may not be able to keep some whores in line, but you better believe none of my business are in my name, let alone linked." she spat. "I'm not some dumb mafia bar owner who cant keep his hands clean." she said, letting her angry eyes glance over at him. "She is not my problem, her meth using ass was fired weeks ago, but you are more than welcome to take it up with Vincent if you like." she said in a very uncaring tone. Annie didn't directly handle the girls, that was Vincents job, so if Gambit truly wanted results it was in his best interest to seek out Vince, if he could find him.
"They have rules, but like any other employee there will always be bad apples that break them. I cant have you showing up in my office every time they do. Fucking arrest them or don't? Or better yet just give me a ring, is that so hard?" she said with a false smile. "Now if you don't mind can you please get out of my hair, so I can finalize a plea deal for one of my paying clients?" she said raising an eyebrow as she locked eyes with the bounty hunter. "Unless you want to discuss this further, and if that is the case you can take me out for coffee, and maybe I will entertain your concerns, Mr. Slade." she said in a challenging fashion.

after she'd so rudely shoved his legs out of the way to put a file away, he kicked his feet back up after she was finished, sending her a childish glare. "oh really? just arrest them, then? so you'd rather have half of your girls behind bars, rather than do your job right?" he asked, arching a brow, though he didn't expect her to answer him back. at least, if she did answer him, it wouldn't be in a timid manner, he could already guess. "you don't scare me, carmicheal. no one in your family actually could. so you can save your empty threats for people who actually give a fuck about what someone like you has to say."
rolling his eyes, gambit slowly pushed out of the chair and walked over to her window. looking down at the view, he barely listened to what she was ranting on about. "you think i'd be stupid enough to let them know who i actually am, annie? i came here to sort shit out, not get you fired. but if you'd like, i can carry out the latter. i've got time." turning, he looked at her, arms crossing over his chest once again. "i flashed my badge, they think i'm a cop. if you want it to stay that way, i'd suggest you drop the fucking attitude, or i make this situation turn into the nine circles of hell." pulling his sunglasses off, he perched them onto his fedora, gaining him a better sight of the redhead in front of him, and also at the same time, trying to express some sort of mutual respect thing. he didn't like annie very well, but he also didn't know her very well. but that didn't mean he couldn't be civil just for the sake of getting this shit done and over with. he didn't want to be in that situation any more than annie did.
he let her go off on her handle, doing nothing but debating how much shit she'd get him in if he lit his smoke, but he managed to resist the urge. even though every word annie said to him, it seemed to make his ears ring more. when she was finally finished, and proposed that he could take her out for coffee if he was still bent on talking to her, he just scoffed. "really? i mean, really?" he asked, looking at her in a disbelieving way. "as far as i'm concerned, it's not my ass on the line here, annie. you see, you might think that you've got your tracks covered because of this whole fake name bullshit, but that's just a name on a document," he started, rounding the desk to stand a little closer to her so that he didn't have to raise his voice as much.
"sandy's been blabbing your name since she got picked up. 'annie carmicheal's gonna get me out of here, you assholes. annie'll save me.' all someone has to do is look into that, which by the way they almost did before i told them to drop it, and it wont be hard to put the connection together. especially when the girls who work for you are practically carmel's scum. you can't expect every one of them to keep their mouths shut if they get picked up for doing something like sandy did." sighing, gambit slowly shook his head, raising a hand to rub both of his eyes for a moment. "but whatever. i mean, you obviously don't give a fuck, so why am i bothering to save your ass? that's the biggest waste of my time." pulling his sunglasses back down onto his face properly, he gave annie one last look before he moved around her and started for the door.
"i'm goin' for a coffee, if you still feel like you can bullshit me out of getting your ass fucked over. by all means, tag along." [atrb=style, background-color: 202020;]i hope this is okaaaay! (:
