"well, there's nothing wrong with anyone assuming that i'm yours, right? at least i wont have to worry about cheap pick up lines, and promised bike rides." she responded with a bit of a grin, but she understood. max wasn't sure if she'd want to go to the pub again, simply because she knew more about it, but if she ever did get the urge, she'd stick to rowan's side the entire time. but the thought of people thinking they were an item made her feel sort of.. funny. it was a nice thought, coming home to a stable life every day, having someone waiting for you to greet you when you arrive after a long work day, but was it really all it was cut out to be? shrugging the thoughts away, more than just for the fact that thinking about being in a relationship with rowan made her stomach start to twist, she tried not to let them take hold of her facial expressions. the last thing she wanted to have to explain to him was why she looked so thoughtful, and far off. being as oblivious as she is, max had no idea that even taking off her jeans would arouse some sort of attention from rowan's lower brain. she didn't give herself enough credit when it came to taking her clothes off, max did it without expecting anything in return. that, and it was just a pair of jeans in her head- it wasn't like she had on really expensive underwear or anything underneath them. after she'd crawled into bed, she'd hoped that rowan would break down and join her. the idea of cuddles and a deep sleep sounded wonderful, two things she hadn't gotten in quite a long time. but when he said he was going to go take a shower, max had to hold back the frown that desperately wanted to break out onto her face. nodding her head against her pillow, she waited until rowan had darted out of her room before flopping over and groaning into her pillow. she felt incredibly stupid for some reason, and having rowan leave only made it worse. this was probably one of the reasons why she didn't have a room mate up until she met rowan. it was too complicated, especially when you happened to find yourself stealing glances at them whenever they weren't looking. but, of course, she knew that he just wanted the best for her. she just wished that sometimes, when she tried really hard, he'd give into her more easily and let himself relax better. assuming that he was going to be showering and going to bed in his own room, max settled in after taking her bra off and closed her eyes. it was easy to get comfortable when you had a bunch of space all to yourself, so finding a spot she liked wasn't hard. it was just crossing that final boundary between consciousness and sleep. and she was almost completely there, too, when rowan slipped into her queen size bed behind her. she felt him shuffle onto the mattress and pull the blankets over him, but it hadn't quite caused her to stir enough to realize what was going on. it wasn't until she felt her body shift, and his warmth start to pulse into the fabric of her shirt, that her eyes actually started to flutter open. it took her a moment to realize what had happened, but after she did, a small smile tugged at her sleepy lips, and she shifted against him, making sure to keep her back pressed snug to his chest. slowly, she took his draped arm's hand within her own, and after closing her eyes once more, she couldn't keep her smile off her face. "goodnight, rowan." [atrb=style, background-color: 202020;] ROWAN . 843 . OUTFIT i didn't know if we were continuing into morning, so i just ended it like this~ c:; |
