"Well, well, well. Come in! Take a seat! Welcome, let's start out with that name shall we?"
[laughs] Well hello, I'm Alice Madeline Valke - people tend to call me Allie, especially my friends, but normally I just prefer Alice.
"Very well, Alice. But wow! That last name is a mouthful! What is it? French? Dutch? Romanian?"
Ahh, very funny! It's actually Swedish, my parents were Swedish immigrants when they first came to Kentucky where I was born. They're completely legal, and believe it or not but I'm actually completely fluent in Swedish and English. [winks]
"Two languages? Impressive! But who are your parents and why did they come so far across the ocean to America?"
A better life I suppose! My mother was pregnant with me at the time, so I guess in a way I was what one would call an "anchor baby." My parents obtained green cards and stayed in America, they had planned on moving back to Sweden with me when I was older but we ended up staying in Kentucky until I moved out. Maybe one day they'll go back, but my dad has become pretty wealthy down here and I don't think he's planning on going back.
"How interesting! But enough about all that, tell me something about yourself, what's some of the things you like to do?"
I've always been a fan of riding horses, although surprisingly I didn't do much of it as a kid. I love to read, it's truly a passion of mine, my apartment has a whole wall dedicated to my extensive book collection. I also like to write and draw, the latter I'm not entirely good at, and I'm very fond of music. I'm definitely an artistic, expressive person, I like singing and dancing and joking around.
"Well you sound like a very opinionated, creative person. But what 'grinds your gears' so to speak?"
Oh dear, I'm a self-proclaimed activist. [laughs] I don't stand for injustice. If I see bullying, abuse, or something wrong in my community I would never sit around and just let it happen. Too many people sit around and the problem gets worse, plus, you never know the impact of how much one person can make. Just one kind gesture could mean the world to someone and you wouldn't know it. So other than the obvious manners of racism, homophobia, ect. I'm not a big fan of cheaters - it's the worse thing you can do to someone, I don't like mustard all that much and bugs are a big no-no.
"Okay, so I won't make you watch 'a bug's life' anytime soon. But if you have to describe yourself in three words, what would they be?"
Expressive, outgoing, volcanic.
"Those are pretty powerful, but the real question is, dogs or cats?"
Cats! I love dogs also, but in the time of my life I unfortunately don't have time to commit to a dog.
"Understandable, what keeps you so busy in school?"
I'm pursuing my degree in nursing, it's been a passion since when I was a child. I've always known I've wanted to be a doctor, but I'm too personal to people to detach myself if I had to deliver bad news or something. But I'm very nurturing, so nursing comes second nature to me.
"You must be pretty good in math to go into that, huh?"
I am pretty good in math! Science was always my favorite class despite my artistic side, the expressive side of me prefers to be more of a hobby. In a way, I'm double sided! [giggles]
"Well Alli - I mean Alice, sounds like you have quite a good balance! Anything you'd like to say before we wrap this up?"
Hello mom and dad, I love you! [blows kiss]

electricity jolted the ashen femme fatale awake, a low growl slipping from between clenched teeth. jael had been sleeping, for even the empress needed rest. she anticipated arcturus would be about, he seemed to never tire, but that wasn't the scent nor the body which had disturbed her slumber. pinning her ears to the base of her skull with irritation, the canine slithered from her comfortable, collapsed position on the granite flooring and to the opening of her den. cinereal eyes scanned out over avarice, lingering in the forests of her home and listening - waiting - in case movement was made. the land would never lie to her, a bird would rustle and leave, a rat would scurry up a tree and jostle the veins of vegetation, the familiar snapping of her brother's meat cleavers would bring a smile to her face... yet, this wasn't arcturus this time.
her advancements could not be stopped then. jael jumped from the crevices of the mountainside, nimbly hopping from boulder to boulder like an mountain goat. once at the bottom she took off, sprinting to the origin of the intruder. despite her smallish frame her strides ate the ground, sinewy haunches and shoulders propelling her as rage bubbled and frothed within her chest. who dare cross the borders without thought to where they were? anger seethed from her every pore, she felt as if she was a steam locomotive intent on bowling through whatever was in her way. danger! danger!her mind screamed, her heart clenched as her speed multiplied. you will pay for your insolence.
jael approached the light colored trespasser at an angle, hearing the growl of self-preservation the twenty seven inch bitch barreled forward with what she had best - speed. coming in at such an angle on her right side that she wasn't hitting her shoulder head on but coming in angled to the backside of her front leg jael dropped her own shoulder, aiming to plow into the female like a bull goring into a matador. neck curled, protecting her esophagus and face as she expected physical rebuttal from her attack.
