[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, width: 390px; padding-top: 20px; padding-bottom: 20px;] it was a rainy day in carmel today, leading some to shut themselves inside to keep dry until the rain either slowed down, or completely passed over. max cardigan, however, was very fond of the rain, and she never minded when a storm cloud found itself above carmel's streets. all it meant to her was that when she went out, she was going to have to put her jeep's roof up, which wasn't much of a hassle when your uncovered jeep was sitting in your well protected garage. so after she'd gotten ready to leave a little after noon, max had pushed into the garage from the connecting door to the house, and started to fight with the vinyl to get it situated properly. it wasn't that hard of a task to do, but for someone like max, almost everything was two times harder by default, just because of the way she did things. after managing to get it all connected, and feeling satisfied, she jumped into the driver's seat and started the vehicle up. before she hit the mall, she made a small pit-stop to grab a coffee from starbucks, before continuing on her way to the mall plaza. snatching a parking spot relatively close to the entrance she wanted to use, max put the keep in park and grabbed her bag from the passenger's seat. exiting into the rain, max closed and locked up the jeep before she made a bit of a hussle to the mall's doors. once she was under the umbrella that sheltered the doors, she shook some of the rain drops off before continuing, not wanting to track more water in than she would have to. that, and having rain drops skidding down your cheek was a little too ticklish to just let them leave on their own accord. pulling her sunglasses off, max tucked an arm into the collar of her shirt as she started walking. she had no idea why she'd felt the urge to come to the mall today, but from the looks of things, it wasn't all that busy. that was when max had more of her better shopping days, because she didn't have to worry about crowded lines, or crowded store aisles; all the usual regular things no one liked to shop around. taking a moment to survey the food court, she started debating between grabbing something to eat really quick before she started on her window shopping, or if she should do it vice versa. slowly, she deicded that food was a better idea to start off with, and with a sip of her coffee, she turned on her heels in the direction of the several mini-fast food places, and small restaurant-like areas to choose from. her eyes had been so focused on what to choose from, rather than where she was going, that she didn't even see the person who was walking away from the food court. her shoulder banged into theres, and she unleashed a yelp out of surprise, and the harsh sting of her coffee splashing over the small mouth hole and onto her hand. she had come close to dropping it, but once she hadn't seen the hotdog that was smeared on the floor of the mall, she remembered the person who'd bumped into; it must've been their hotdog. swallowing thickly, she shot her head up to look at them, already stammering apologies before she'd even completely raised her eyes to their own. "jesus, i am so sorry. i wasn't even looking, i had no idea you were there. fuck. can i buy you a new hot dog, or something?" she asked, pulling her wallet from her back pocket. "please? it's the least i could do for being so cliche." |
