Guilty Pleasures
Baseball Baseball is Jake's life. It's the sport he chose has a kid and something he has been playing since he was eight years old. He played for the Baby Ruth leagues all throughout middle school and joined the high school team his freshman year. Being the middle child, Jacob tended to consider himself the less important one of the family. The first child and the last were always the one that stuck out the most. Baseball gave the Turner kid a place where he felt he belonged. He loved his family and one way to get them really involved with his life was to make them want to be in it. Baseball games and tournaments happened to be the things that did so.
Motorcycles More like a collector’s item for Jake. That is, if he had the money to own a few. He really likes any motor vehicle that goes fast but leans more towards cycles and bikes. Right now he owns a 2007 Yahama R6S. It's all he could afford of the money he saved up throughout high school and it was the perfect transportation when he went off to school. He looks forward to the day when he can afford more bikes and restore of cycles. This interest isn't something his parents entirely approve of but he was all about being defiant and when he turned eighteen, they didn't have a say anyways.
Math He's not one to really try in school. Jake is really smart but just doesn't perform to his potential when it comes to education. No surprise, he puts baseball before anything and it's been the main reason why he still gets good grades in school. In high school he was suppose to maintain a 3.0 gpa to stay on the same and the same goes for college. Math just happened to be the one subject that came easiest to Jacob, so he used what skill he had and applied it to a major in civil engineering. All he knew was that his major required a lot of math subjects and he figured it would be the simplest way to go about his schooling in Chico. If Jake really lived up to his potential, he could do anything he wanted but he feels baseball is all he's good at.

Deal Breakers
Authority Other than by his baseball coach, Jake has never been good with taking direction from others. He doesn’t like being told what to do and is most likely to do the opposite of what you tell him. While growing up, he wasn’t use to getting what he wanted. His older brother got a lot of attention and his little sister was spoiled. A lot of the time he was left in the dust now that he is legally independent, he thinks he can do whatever he wants. Jacob has become very selfish over the years and has a need to be right. He thinks he’s always right, so when someone tries to step in and tell him otherwise, Jake doesn’t take it well. He runs his own life and doesn’t want anyone else’s input or opinions.
Losing Which mainly goes on the lines of baseball. Jake is a very competitive young man. He likes things done his way and one important must in his life is to win. Mainly that revolves around sports but it can really apply to anything in life. He doesn’t like losing attention to someone else or not getting what he wants. Jacob won’t hide his frustration or annoyance when things don’t go his way either. Luckily, when his emotions get the best of him, Jake tends to run or seclude himself from everyone else. He doesn’t like people to see his emotions, which he thinks makes himself look vulnerable. This doesn’t mean that he won’t go down without a fight. Everyone gets to see the competitive bones in his body.
Settling For his entire life, Jacob has worked for everything he has. He fought for his parent’s attention and he fought to find his place in life. If it’s one thing he knows for sure, it’s that nothing comes to those who are lazy. He knows that money doesn’t fall from trees or that you can’t be truly in-shape unless you eat right or workout. Some goes for any situation in life and Jacob isn’t one to take things lightly. Despite being defiant, he is very serious when making important decisions for himself. He doesn’t like settling for what’s easiest in life and he tends to work better when challenged. Just because everyone else does one thing, doesn’t mean he will. Jacob isn’t one for being the norm and choses to live his life his own way.

The Family
Jacob Ian Turner was born and raised in Carmel, California. He was second born to his older brother and first to his sister Violet, who was born three years later. All the Turner kids remained close to one another throughout the years as well as to their parents but out of everyone, he seemed to be the one who fit in the least. While his brother got praised for accomplishments and Violet got spoiled for being the only girl, Jake had to find his spot in the family. Baseball was the sport that made him feel comfortable at a very young age and something that brought attention. All he ever wanted was for his family to be involved with what he loved to do and that happened with baseball. The sport kept him close with his parents and siblings but Jake would forever remain the misfit of the family. He was defiant and rarely did what he was told. Though, he respected his parents and tried not to be a real pain in the ass but when he turned 18 he knew he would do anything he wanted and there was nothing his family could do about it. He had been more than ready to leave town and go off to college when the time came. All Jake wanted to do was live his own life and at twenty-two years of age, that’s exactly what he was doing.
The Dream
I have mentioned numerous of times that Jacob Turner is all about baseball. I constantly say this because it is very much true. Since he was eight years old, Jake had prepared himself for where he was today. He dedicated most of his free time to the sport while he grew up. He played in leagues until high school and remained on a team until he was in college. He actually obtained a baseball scholarship to Chico State University, and since that is where most of his friends went, the Turner boy decided to go there as well. His dream was to be in MLB and become a damn good baseball player. Every day Jake worked on his skills and remained focused on his position as catcher. When he wasn’t spending time on a baseball field, he was working to keep up his grades just to be on a team. This is what he has been doing since he was a freshman in high school and now that he is a senior in college; his future is just an arm’s length away. This was the deciding year for him and he needed to be on his A game. The last thing Jacob needed was a distraction but being a baseball player, Jacob knew that life throws you curve balls.
There Goes My Life
Two weeks ago, Jacob Turner found out that he was going to be a father. He couldn’t believe it because for as long he had been at Chico, he had slept with very few people and even when he did, he was always protected. After the initial shock simmered, Jake realized how this all happened and with someone he couldn’t really even stand. This girl hung around his friends and whenever they were around each other, all they did was bicker and fight. They really didn’t like each other and always put one another down. Jake purposely tried to get on her nerves and was never nice. Well, one night they all went to a party and both were heavily intoxicated. Neither really remembered sleeping with each other and probably would have never realized if they hadn’t woken up together. Both were really shocked and honestly a little grossed out. Both swore not to tell anyone or to ever bring it up again. They went on with their daily lives and even looked passed what happened just so they could act normal around each other. It was two weeks ago that the two started acting weird around each other and that was because the girl found out she was pregnant. Jake was angry and disappointed with himself. At first, he wanted nothing to do with the girl and the baby but he knew he had to do something. The only thing he could think of was go back home and try to figure out a plan there. Jacob didn’t want to admit it but what he needed was advice from his parents but taking guidance from anyone wasn’t easy for him. He needs something though because Jake has no idea what he’s going to do and isn’t sure if he can handle raising a baby child with someone he doesn’t even life.

Troy couldn’t have felt more at home as he wandered down the pier. Everything felt so right for the twenty year old. From his grandparent’s warm embraces to his aunt’s messy work space, the young man knew that Bay Grove was where he belonged. He spent every summer of his life here and whenever he came back, Troy merely felt as though he was returning from an extended vacation. It should have been the other way around since Melbourne was his real home town but Australia didn’t give the sense of self belonging. He hated leaving his mother behind but as sat down on an empty bench and admired the scenes around him, Troy was reminded why he always came back. He only wished that Ainsley could have experienced the same thrills of America. Four months later and he was still thinking about his losses but it was expected. While he thought it would be easy to pick up and move on, the assumption was unrealistic.
His ex-girlfriend had never stepped foot on U.S. soil but it seemed as though everything about this place reminded Troy of her. From the locked lips of a young couple to the sounds of waves crashing against each other brought the image of her face into his mind. As the twenty year old looked from the crowd of people to the empty horizon where the water touched the sky, he started to wonder if coming to the pier was such a good idea. It was one of his favorite places to be in Virgina. There was more than enough inspiration around him to get his fingers scrolling over a notepad but he knew how all of his lyrics would end up. Sappy love songs was all Troy could come up with lately and frankly, it started to frustrate him. The last way to impress his aunt was to show her the book of his broken love life. She always told him that these experiences were the greatest inspiration but his name was on the line. These songs were about him and if he allowed someone to sing them, then one could easily pass judgment on his life and what he had been through.
Troy’s thoughts were scattered. It felt as though his mind was racing a mile a minute and he needed to get a hold on it. He leaned forward, pulling his guitar case onto his lap and pulled out his Gibson. He then reached for the pad and pencil that lay underneath it before setting aside the case. Troy slipped through the pages of his notebook, scanning threw lyrics and words before setting that aside as well. He pulled the guitar into his arms and looked around again, looking for something right about. His eyes fell upon a little brunette haired girl that was staring at him. With the approval of her parents, she walked over and reached out her hand. Troy allowed her to strum the strings before smiling. “What do you want to hear?” She thought about this for a moment but shrugged her shoulders, clearly too shy to say anything. So he started strumming to the first song that came to mind and started singing Rhinestone Cowboy. The little girl wouldn’t know the song but she was at least smiling as he sung.
