in her fit of anger, and because she knew that if she had remained around the beach any longer, she'd end up punching at least one of them in the face, selene had taken her skate board and taken off. unfortunately, her slightly drunken state had given her skateboarding a bit more of a chance of messing up, but after she got away from the busy rush of people getting off work, she knew she was in the clear. at least if she wiped out, no one would run her over and do some serious damage to her scraps and bruises.
eventually, she found herself at the docks. toeing her skateboard down the narrow walkway over the water, selene steadily made her way to the edge. plopping down at the edge, leaving her bag and her board propped up against the bench that was fastened into the main dock, she let the bottoms of her shoes skim across the water's surface. without much thought to it, she pulled out her smoke case and fished out the joint she'd rolled that day before leaving her friend's apartment. smiling at the fatty, she rolled it between her fingers to test the paper's strength, before lifting up the filter to her lips in order to light the opposite end. once it was ignited, she closed her eyes and inhaled her first drag. as soon as the smoke hit her lungs, she started to relax, and she started to feel the anger slip away from herself.
exhaling the smoke, she was about to lift the joint up to take another drag when she heard someone's footsteps along the docks behind her. opening her eyes, she glanced over her shoulder, expecting to see someone who was bound to get her in shit, or one of the guys who'd been trying so desperately to work their way into her good graces. but, to her surprise, it was nick. selene made no wave at him, or greeting, but instead turned to face the water again. she figured that he wouldn't take offence to it, especially since she was usually pretty vulgar and more aggressive with her actions than other girls in carmel. if he wasn't used to her by now, then she couldn't help him. It had been a long day of mixing drinks at the local starbucks. A rush of tourists had come to carmel to soak up what was left of the summer sun. Many of them came with their surfboard and blonde haired girlfriends. Nick has spent the day wearing the green visor on backwards, using the green apron to wipe his sweaty hands and brows. He was finally relieved to see Brianna come in and take the last shift from him. A smile had crept across he's face as he clocked out of the nice little shop.
He feet had carried him to a little tiki stand that sat close to the beach. He lived his over worked body to a stand. Coke and rum Nick said eyeing the bar tender. She was a cute little blonde that didn't live her. Must be here for the summer, his brain pieced together. He was eye down the drink that came to his hand. He raised it to the girl nodding at her then taking a nice sip. He felt the liquor slide down his throat. It bit, gnawed little. The burn was worth the nice warm feeling that slowly started spreading through his body.
The world became clear after a couple of drinks, Nicks words had become a flow. The cute little bar tender had finished her shift. She sat across from him leaning in, he was telling a high school story even if it was worn out. She was feeding every word off of him, leaning closer. He finished it, pulling a cigarette from the box he offered one to her. He took one and place it in his month, leaned back to light it. He took a nice drag and released it watching it fade into the sky.
The sun had set, Nick's bottom was still in the seat. She had gotten bored. Nick had gotten intoxicated. Not risking a DUI, nick let his legs come out from the bar under the seat and on the the ground. when had he gotten this intoxicated? The world shifted into a view of a blur. Nicholas had made his way across the beach. The sun had left pink streaks across the sky, the water lapped at the sand. Nicholas had made his way slowly across to the dock. The long wooden dock had a small figure sitting at the edge. A trail of smoke led up to the sky, a blunt was moved in and out of there mouth. Nick's curious mind lead him closer to who it was.
The blonde looked back at him, it was the one and only selene. Nick's pace became quicker knowing there was a blunt waiting to be smoked. He reach the edge of the dock, sat down and faced her. Nice evening isn't it The blunt still moving, Selene's eyes still on the water.

when nate came and sat beside her, she held no reaction and continued raising the joint to her lips for another drag. at his words, she slowly glanced up from the shimmering water almost high enough to graze the bottoms of her skate shoes. "it'd be nicer if shooting idiots in the head was legal," she responded in a gruff tone, exhaling at the same time she had released her words. slowly, she extended the joint towards him, knowing fully well that he'd want at least a few drags off of it before she tossed it into the water to float away. "you're drunk, aren't you?" she asked after he'd taken the joint, slowly leaning in to smell him. he definitely smelt like alcohol, that was for sure; and she bet if she cast her tongue over the filter of the joint, she'd taste it, too, off of where his lips had once been.
"way to invite me to the party, asshole." smirking a bit, she nudged him, playfully, trying her best to let her anger slide away and to focus on relaxing. grabbing her bag, she opened the top of it and routed until she found her flask. pulling the american-ized bottle out, she opened the lid and lifted the spout to her lips. sucking back a few large mouthfuls of straight whiskey, she slowly righted herself and screwed the cap back on. pulling a bit of a face from the after taste, she tried to shake off the burn, but it was nearly impossible. all she could do was swallow her saliva, and hope that it made a little bit of a difference. "so why are you roaming near water if you're wasted, anyway? i don't think anyone'd go jumping in after you if you fell, drunky." [atrb=style, background-color: 202020;]baaaam (:
